Will my 17mos. old neice be taken away from my sister if she seeks drug addiction treatment?

Question by momof4: Will my 17mos. old neice be taken away from my sister if she seeks drug addiction treatment?
My sister is recently separated from her husband. She and my 16mos. old niece live with my parents, who are supporting her in every way. We are concerned with my sisters serious drug addiction to pain killers, started after the birth of my niece. My sister has a fear if she seeks treatment, the baby will be taken away from her. Is this true? How could that be? If she seeks out treatment, and the 72 hours she is in detox, her family will be taking care of the baby.

Which psalms can you suggest; to keep danger away from our family?

Question by mai: Which psalms can you suggest; to keep danger away from our family?
There is an undesirable person who has managed to work his way into our family. This person is conniving, intriguing, and manipulative. He’s taken advantage of the fact that there were disagreements within the family and creating a lot of trouble; only some of us have realized his game. We consider this person to be very dangerous because he is playing with a young person’s mind who has serious “mental health” problems. Also he has on his side an ex-husband who is none too happy to see his estranged family miserable and paying for leaving him; the family being his ex-wife and kids(who are adults now). This undesirable person is a trouble maker and very dangerous.

psalms are not meant to protect you. they do not have any special powers. they are meant to teach and comfort, not to conjure magic. anyway to comfort you i would suggest psalm 27. also why are we so quick to point out the negative, look for the positive in him and the negative in your own views, if you cannot, you more than likely have a pride issue (don’t worry, we all have them at times). after all it is not the healthy who need a doctor but the sick, see what you can do to help him, but make sure to keep yourself in check at the same time. remember that no one can hurt you as long as you are solid with god (at least not in a way that matters)

Should people like Christian Bale get away with treating people like he did…?

Question by ZStar930: Should people like Christian Bale get away with treating people like he did…?
Everybody explodes sometimes like Christian Bale did. Its natural, it happens to at least once in a person’s life time. But, he went Way overboard. He was petty, infantile and took it way too far. And the sad thing is nothing socially, professionally or in any way (past a brief media volley…) will happen as a consequence. Now, imagine if you acted like that at work or at a dinner with your family or in public to a stranger. Well, in public I’d imagine they’d still be trying to wash your blood off the side walk as well as attempting to pry out the last of your teeth that were driven into the sidewalk. Thats pretty much a given. Even a priest would would’ve probably kicked you in the shins. Or, at least, I’d like to think he would. You know you screwed up when a dedicated, peaceful man of God calls you a (Insert extreme expletive here). It hurts, I know… I mean, I would never do such a thing to my mother… Now, if you were at work, you’d be told to go home, be asked to take an anger management class or maybe even dismissed, especially if a customer witnessed your outburst. The only one where you MIGHT not end up with any real repercussions is dinner with the family. I’ve seen outbursts like that and it usually has two outcomes. You are separated until you calmed down, asked to apologize, then you resent each other for a couple of months and it would be over. OR, you’d be asked to leave and not invited back. My point is, in all those situations, there would be a consequence. Its only the people with power over you and/or everybody else that are able to get away with it. Your boss, your manipulative boy/girlfriend, the “Head” of the household ( usually Dad…) and, of course, the everyday, absolute %$ #-clowns of society that don’t care what they say and don’t care what happens as a result. Unfortunately, your boss almost always gets away with it ( Unless karma steps in and you get to witness him fall down a flight of stairs at the company Christmas party and shatter his knee caps ( One can only hope…). You significant other that knows just how to work you so you never are in control, even of yourself, usually gets away with it by not necessarily apologizing later, but by becoming affectionate and lovey-dovey later so you forgive them and let it pass for the Nth time, only reinforcing that they can do that whatever they want when ever they want and you’ll forgive them ( again, the shattered knee caps would be wonderful thing to behold but don’t wish for that until after you break up, otherwise, you’d end up having to take care of “The Devil in the Blue Cast” where sympathy would replace affection as their excuse for forgiveness. The only one that has the any real repercussions ( at least psychologically, and this is not EVERY family) is the “Head” of the household. While he has the most leeway as to the venomousness and power of his assaults, its usually the “Second-in-Command” ( In title only, which is usually Mom. If she controls him, she controls everything…) that tries to reason with him, then browbeats him and eventually threatens him into apologizing and making things right. Its usually not a sincere apology, but it’s a start and they ARE your family. “You hurt the ones you love, but you also can’t trade them in for the nice, well adjusted Jewish family down the street” (-Confusious Circa- 895 BC…..Really…..). Again, my point is, Christian Bale will get away with this. He may take some heat from the media ( usually the ONLY punishment his kind will likely ever get…), but by the time the movie comes out, people will have forgotten it ( unless you’re a “Family Guy” fan. God Bless you Todd…). So what can you do…? You can say that you won’t go see anything he’s in ever again, but its like the way people view the vote in this country: how can one man make a difference…? Maybe if these people had a “minimum conduct of behavior” clause in their contract promising monetary and involvement ( Like creative control ) sanctions for unprofessional behavior tied to other aspects of conduct like being late to the set, walk-offs and destructive drug and alcohol behavior ( I mean do what you want, have fun, but if you’re too high to work or you’re off on a drug run when you’re supposed to be on the set, well… Its happened many, many times, you just didn’t hear about most of them. Hell, “Mork and Mindy” ALONE…). Fine, you want twenty million dollars for doing the film…? OK, for every million you cost the movie, that million comes off your paycheck. But, it would only work if it became the standard. And if even ONE person got out of those clauses in their contract, the whole thing would fall apart. But I can’t say that I really know what would work for sure. But take Axel Rose, who would walk off stage prematurely in a tantrum usually reserved only for spoiled toddlers at almost every G’N'R concert. I’m surprised we didn’t see at least once, where Axel was throwing a fit and and had to be minimally

Why Do People Fall Away?

Why Do People Fall Away?

Have you ever noticed that some people who believe in Jesus Christ will fall away and become just like the world? My heart breaks when I see those kind of people. The people that once beleived in Christ but now ignore him and do just about everything against him. Ray comfort once said that if you see these kind of people you should ask them if they actually knew the lord. Most will say I thought so. Thats when you know that they just fell away when temptations, tribulations, and rough times started to knock on their heart. Those kind of people did’nt actually put on Jesus Christ, they just merely put on an accessory to remind them. But what does that do when you are living in the world? In Darkness?

That accessory means nothing to the unbeliever. Christians are supposed to know the lord, and trust in all his ways. Proverbs has a verse that says “Trust the lord with all your heart, mind, and soul, and lean not on your own understanding, and He will direct your paths” There are times when even I get distracted and tempted and it is huge battle to remain standing on solid ground. Its funny how the devil knows what bait you will want, and it is always alluring and looks good but sadly it is downright sinful and disgusting. Many people fall away because sin either looks good, or they say everybody is doing it. Did you know that Jesus Loves you so much he will never let his eyes off of you! Thats how much he loves you! Seriously guys turn away from sin and start reading your bible. Begin with John 3:16 and go from there. Jesus Christ loves you so much he died on the cross bearing your sin so that you, when you die wo’nt have to go to hell. He freed you from the wrath that is to come, He saved you from hell. Trust in him, and he will give you eternal life. God Bless!
