Melissa Etheridge Tickets – Promoting ‘Fearless Love’

She’s claimed she’s been ‘fearless’ in love and now Melissa Etheridge is bringing that fearlessness to the stage with the latest promotional tour in support of Fearless Love, the first full-length from the rocker in three years. “This album had to be about the songs,” she says about the 10th studio set that was released on April 27. Recently announcing the first round of summer tour dates, Etheridge will kick off the Fearless Love Tour on July 7th in Albany, N.Y. The 24-city jaunt will conclude in San Diego in early September. Be fearless yourself when purchasing Melissa Etheridge tickets from http://www.stubhub.com, as it’s a concert you won’t want to miss.

Etheridge brought back John Shanks to help create the album, not only for his skills behind the control board but for his strength on the guitar.”I hadn’t done a whole project with him since Breakdown, so I called him up and said, ‘John I want a whole album, the way great rock and roll groups used to do it where they would go away, live together and give their time and energy to the music,” she said a press release. The result is a 12-track, classic rock inspired pop album that follows two basics â?? fear and love. As she says on her website, the concept for her latest album came to her instantly. “Everything is either fear or love,” she adds, noting that every track has either the concept of fear or love in its lyrics.

Originally deemed Songs of Love and Fear, Fearless Love became the title thanks to the suggestion of her daughter. Influenced not only by musical veterans like Led Zeppelin and U2, Etheridge takes her four children’s input very seriously. So when her daughter criticized the original title for its length, they worked together to encompass the theme in just two simple words. “‘It has to be about love and fear,’ I said, ‘so how about Fearless?’ ‘That’s Taylor Swift’s song,’ she told me, ‘what about Fearless Love?’ ‘That’s perfect,’ I thought,” Etheridge recounts on her website.

Etheridge’s life has constantly been filled with both fear and love. A Kansas native, Etheridge was musically gifted from an early age and started writing material by eight. Though she moved to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music, after just a year she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career full time. Her bluesy folk rock caught the attention of major records after earning herself a residency at the Executive Suite in Long Beach and she signed a deal with Island Records. Etheridge released her debut in 1988 and followed up the gold certification with a Grammy performance, collaboration on Don Henley’s The End of the Innocence and the sophomore Brave and Crazy.

It wasn’t until her fourth album Yes I Am that Etheridge found her commercial breakthrough, thanks to production work by Hugh Padgham and singles “I’m the Only One” and “Come to My Window.” She earned a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocalist that year (1995), selling six million U.S. copies the first year alone. Though she couldn’t keep that record sale strength with the next three albums, 2004′s Lucky premiered a new sound because Etheridge was in love. The new romance led to two children and several hit singles, though Lucky appeared the same year she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Even with the struggles, both personal and professional, Etheridge remains one of the most influential female folk rock performers in history.
